SUMMARY:Mark Moran Antiques Appraisal Event
DESCRIPTION:Join us Saturday\, June 14th\, for a three-hour antique appraising event! The Dubuque County Library District is hosting renowned antiques expert and author Mark Moran to appraise local heirlooms ranging from fine art to glassware\, toys\, and more! \nRegistration for an appraisal is required for this event. \nSpectators who would like to just watch the event are also welcome. Mark’s vast experience and knowledge makes this event entertaining for the entire audience! \nTo register to bring an item for appraisal: please contact the library at: 563-582-0008 and ask to speak to Lydia\, Gabby or Julia. RSVP begins May 1st. \n*Limit of 1 antique per person\, 40 items/people in total. \nAbout the Presenter: \nMark Moran has over 20 years of appraisal experience and has co-authored more than two dozen books on antiques. He has appeared as a guest expert on “Antiques Roadshow” and has appraised antiques and collectibles at more than 1\,000 events across the Country. \nAntiques Mr. Moran WILL appraise: \n\nFine art\, including paintings\, drawings\, prints and statuary\nFurniture (photos of large pieces may be sent in advance)\nCeramics\, including figural pottery\, vases\, dishes\, kitchenware and stoneware\nGlassware\, including marbles and souvenir items\nVintage photographs\, including snapshots\, tintypes\, ambrotypes\, and daguerreotypes\nAdvertising\, including posters\, lithographed tin\, paper\, and figural objects\nFolk art\, including carvings\, quilts\, weathervanes\, windmill weights\, and “outsider” art\nAssorted toys\, including dolls (bisque\, composition\, and plastic)\, windups\, and mechanical banks\nMetalware\, including iron\, bronze\, brass\, pot metal\, silver\, silver plate\nClocks\, including mantel\, hanging\, and figural; also pocket and wristwatches\nCostume jewelry\, including brooches\, bracelets\, earrings\nMusical Instruments\, including string\, wind\, and reed instruments\nAntique and vintage lighting\nBooks\nSporting Memorabilia\n\nExcluded items: all weapons\, including swords and knives (though folding knives with advertising are accepted); traps (like leg-hold); Nazi memorabilia; coins and paper money; fine jewelry\, including precious gems; Beanie Babies. \nAll appraisals require registration. Due to wide interest in this event\, Mr. Moran cannot take walk-ins. \n*Opinions of value are informal\, and may not be used for insurance or charitable donations\, which require a certified appraisal.
